OFW Stories: Heartbreaking moment of OFW daddy and his daugther

The pain of being an Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) is not just about leaving their home country, it isn’t just about the hours and hours of work they put and not being able to be physically comforted by their family at the end of the day, but the pain of having to leave even if they don’t want to is one that deeply pierces the heart. No parent or child can every get used to the goodbyes that have to be said when they are at the airport about to be separated once again for such a long time.

OFW LIFE: My 5-year old daughter's love to her daddy!Heartbreaking moment of my daughter and husband at Davao International Airport .Eto talaga ang nakakalungkot sa mga OFW parents pag bumabalik na sa ibang bansa. I hope one day in Duterte's administration, Filipinos will no longer need to work abroad instead dito na mag trabaho sa sariling bansa natin.

Migration for work should only be an option for the citizens, not as the last resort or the only resort available.  No citizen in the country should experience having to be forced to leave home just to be able to feed the mouths of their family members. Most Overseas Filipino Workers today experience this. Most OFWs feel the need to leave because the Philippines cannot provide the job they need and want, the salary they have to have, and the assurance of being able to keep their job. This is a problem that the government must face. This is a challenge to the president, to all politicians and all the future presidents and politicians. How will they make their country develop in such a way that no citizen would feel forced to leave their home country?

A problem that continuously grows each year; when will be the time that the goodbyes will end?
