In celebration of the 2017 National Teachers’ Day as conducted in Legaspi, Albay, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) gives tribute to the teachers who were dubbed as the change-makers to the lives of their students.
Joining the universal event, also called World Teachers’ Day, was TESDA’s Director General Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong who paid his tribute at Balong Centrum of Recreation in Legaspi City last Oct. 5, 2017.
Mamondiong was critical in giving honors to the teachers by citing their influence towards children’s critical-thinking skills, apart from instilling in them the basic elements in their studies.
Also taking part in the event are other TESDA personnel’s and sixteen officials from the region in conjunction with the 29 Tagsanay (trainer) candidates and awardees.
Other significant people who participated in this annual event are the government officials from the national and local levels, the top brass of the Department of Education (DepEd), employees and executives from private companies, members and officers of volunteer groups, and others more.
But as the celebration is not complete without the celebrants themselves, teachers from across many schools also took part in the event.
Set with the theme “Gurong Pilipino: Kaakbay sa Progreso,” a number of activities were lined up to give life to the event which sought to honor all teachers across the nation.
