An OFW behind the latest viral video was finally honored by the Philippine Embassy in line with his act of heroism during a calamity in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The man, identified as Daud Saripada Balindong from Pagadian City, rescued an elderly Arab man in Jeddah last Nov. 21 and the incident was captured in a video.
Photo: A OcionesIn the video, the 39-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker can be seen helping a man inside a car who was allegedly stricken with polio. The situated was in its worst state because the car was already submerged in the water as flood persisted in the area of Abruq AR Rughamah.
Without thinking of his own good, the brave Filipino man jumped into the waters and swam to rescue the man inside the car.
Balindong secured the man by giving him life-vest and carried him in a safe area.
The video instantly captured the attention of the public and he became an instant celebrity-hero.
To commemorate his act of heroism, Balindong has received a certificate from the Philippine Embassy in a ceremony last Nov. 27 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
